Patients can be discharged between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays and holidays.

The discharge order will be according to the doctor's order and the file will be completed by the secretary of the department and sent to the discharge department (discharge is done based on the duration of hospitalization and treatment measures in a certain period of time).

Central fees are calculated based on the health system transformation plan and according to the book of relative value of medical and diagnostic services of the current year, and the bill is delivered to the patient.

Should the patient self-pay at the time of discharge and at the same time has supplementary insurance, they can perform the following steps to submit the documents to the insurance and receive the fee:

Contact the medical records unit with phone number (021) 55801630 extension 186 one week after the discharge date to follow up on the documents.

If the documents are prepared earlier than one week, the medical documents unit will contact you first.

After making sure that the documents are ready, they can visit the medical documents unit located on the first floor from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays, and from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursdays.

It is worth mentioning that the documents are presented to the patient in only one copy, and if the patient has several insurances, they need to make copies of accordingly and when referring to the basic insurance, copy the documents to be equal to the originals for the insurance and deliver them to basic insurance.

The documents are given to the patient only once, and in case of loss, a duplicate will not be issued.

Documents will be delivered only to the patient or first-degree relatives upon presentation of a valid ID card.

If someone else were to receive documents, they will need to bring a copy of the patient's national card along with the patient's consent to introduce the person receiving the documents, in addition to the national card, birth certificate or certificate of the recipient.

If the patient does not live in Tehran, the documents will be sent to the address indicated on the sheet for the well-being of the patients.

It should be noted that all patients must attach the discharge bill to their insurance documents.

If the patient has been admitted to the hospital with a letter of introduction, the hospital's insurance unit will send the patient's documents to the respective insurance. Any tampering with the contents of the file for any purpose is considered a crime and is an example of the legal provision of tampering with documentary evidence for which the relevant punishment is defined.
